- Gift of Art is a small contemporary art Gallery at 239b Colombo ST, Beckenham in Christchurch. We are a COMMISSION FREE Gallery! so all our artists get 100% of every sale. How do we do that I hear you say??....the artists pay a membership fee annaully (non-refundable)and a small exhibiting fee (as per artist contract)per week per artwork. So far we represent 25 Artists NZ wide who can change their work as they wish and have more in the gallery for periods of time if they want. Artists are invited to use the space as a work place or place to teach lessons and are encouraged to look after the Gallery. This helps them learn to represent themselves and other artist's work. Gift of Art also offers adult art workshops and are hopeing to begin FREE art lessons to children in need term one 2009.
